The author of this preface says that the Saddharmapuṇḍarīka-sūtra of Dharmarakṣa (T263) was translated from an original on palm-leaves, which he had examined. The author also discusses parts of the text that were "missing" in T263 Cf. Demiéville (1954): 315 n. 6.
