Liu discusses in detail an apparent contradictiion between the date given for the composition of T2085 by Faxian himself, in his conclusion (414 CE), and the date given in the postscript 跋 (6-10). She gives an interesting hypothesis about the process by which the text was composed, which relates it to known information about the procedures of the translation workshop at Daochang si 道場寺/Douchang si 鬪場寺 (on the outskirts of present-day Nanjing), where Faxian was active (along with figures such as Buddhabhadra and Baoyun). She suggests that wording of the postface indicates that Faxian's text may have undergone group discussion and verification similar to that to which translations were subject (11-13).
