Jeong Young Sik summarises the present-day state of scholarly opinion on the authorship of the Jinsim Jikseol 眞心直說 T2019A, a text that has had a great influence on East Asian Buddhism. T2019A was long considered to be the work of Bojo Jinul (知訥). However, Nam Gwon-hee 남권희 南權熙 and Choi Yeon-sik 최연식 崔然植 raised questions about this attribution in 2000. Subsequently, Choi Yeon-sik discovered new data in 2003 and claimed that T2019A “was written by the Chan master Zhengyan (政言) of the Jin Dynasty of China.” Choi's thesis has become widely accepted, and the attribution to Zhengyan was followed in the Compendium of the Complete Works of Korean Buddhism (한국불교전서편람 韓國佛敎全書便覽) published by Dongguk University in 2015. Thus, it is now the consensus view among Korean scholars that T2019A is by Zhengyan. Works referred to: 남권희(南權熙) and 최연식(崔然植), 「진심직설의 저자에 대한 재고찰」 , 『한국도서관·정보학회지』31-2, 2000. Choe Yeonshik 崔然植.
