TACL is a suite of free computer tools to assist in the analysis of Chinese Buddhist texts, as digitised by CBETA. This document explains how to install TACL and use its various functions. This Guide supplements but does not replace the TACL documentation. This document is intended as a complement to the TACL Methods' Guide, which treats questions of Buddhological-philological method bearing upon rigorous and effective application of the tool to research questions. Note that this "User's Guide" is for the "full-fledged" version of TACL, or "TACL proper", which runs from the command line. Users wanting to use the TACL GUI should use instead the TACL GUI User's Manual.
