According the preface to T264, the Pumen pin 普門品 (and the Devadatta chapter) already existed in China before the translation of T264 (竊見提婆達多及普門品偈、先賢續出補闕流行、餘仰遺風憲章成範). According to LDSBJ, Jñānagupta 闍那崛多 translated a set of verses recapitulating the gist of the chapter (Miaofa lianhua jing pumen pin chongshuo ji 妙法蓮華經普門品重說偈).
