法界圖記叢髓錄 T1887B is an anonymous compilation of commentaries on T1887A (which is attributed to the Silla monk Uisang 義湘). According to Hwang, Kim Sang-hyeon (1985), pp. 378–382, left open the possibility that T1887B was compiled by Cheon-gi (天其), who was active in the mid-13th century. Park Seo-yeon (2004), pp. 319–320, asserted that it is certain that the compiler of the Chongsurok was Cheon-gi. Kim Sang-hyeon (1985), pp. 378–382, estimated that the extant manuscript of the Chongsurok was compiled between the late 10th century and the mid-13th century. |
According to Hwang, Kim Sang-hyeon (1985) investigates the date of the 法界圖記叢髓錄 T1887B, the sources of the text, and its historical significance. Based on the fact that Gyunyeo’s 均如 (923–973) writings are cited in T1887B, and that it was admitted into the supplement of the Tripitaka Koreana in the mid-13th century, Hwang determines that the extant manuscript was created between the late 10th century and the mid-13th century. In addition, based on the fact that the content of the Sipgujang 十句章 cited in the text is the same as the current version of Sipgu jangwon tong gi 十句章圓通記, from which "local terms/language" (? 方言) had been eliminated by Cheongi (天其, fl. mid-13th century), Hwang moots the possibility that T1887B was compiled by Cheongi, a monk of the Hwaeom (華嚴) school in Gyunyeo’s (均如) lineage. Park Seo-yeon (2004) also espoused the ascription of T1887B to Cheongi (天其). Works cited: Kim Sang-hyeon 김상현. (1985), “Beopgyedogi Chongsurok rok” 『법계도기총수록』록.
