The Yulanpen jing zanshu 盂蘭盆經讚述 T2781 is the oldest commentary to the Yulanpen jing 盂蘭盆經 T685. This commentary is in large part similar to the discourses translated after Xuanzuang's time (新訳経論), e.g. Xuanzang's玄奘 Fodi jing lun 佛地經論 T1530. The authorship is questionable. Traditionally the text is ascribed to Huijing 慧浄. Nonetheless, according to the Huijing zhuan 慧浄傳, Huijing passed away in 645 A.C., but T1530, which is cited in the text, was translated in 649 A.C.
