[Muller DDBf] Muller, Charles. DDB s.v. 圓覺經. — Accessed July 27 2014. |
Muller has studied this text closely, and his article is long and detailed. "A Chinese sūtra which was probably written in the early eighth century C.E." "The Sutra of Perfect Enlightenment is closely related in content to other East Asian works such as the Awakening of Faith (大乘起信論), the Śūraṃgama-sūtra (首楞嚴經), and the Compilation of Yongjia (永嘉集)." Buswell briefly notes that the Yuanjue jing 大方廣圓覺修多羅了義經 T842 is “apocryphal,” on the basis of its association with Buddhist esotericism and tathāgatagarbha thought. Entry author: Sophie Florence |
