In the present canon 現藏, T1339 is ascribed to Fazhong 法衆, a monk of the Northern Liang, in Gaochang 高昌 commandery 北涼沙門法衆於高昌郡譯. Ōno points out that this ascription is incorrect, as it misunderstands Gaochang commandery 高昌郡, which was in fact Fazhong’s birthplace, as the place of translation. Fajing was the first to give this incorrect ascription, while CSZJJ and LDSBJ wrote correctly 高昌郡沙門法衆/ 高昌郡沙門釋法衆. Entry author: Atsushi Iseki |
