Kawano points out that in CSZJJ, dates of translation are given for eight texts in the *Dharmakṣema corpus in the Song(-Yuan-Ming) line of transmission only (as witnessed by the Taishō apparatus), but not in the Korean, which forms the base edition for the Taishō. The extant texts in question are T157, T397(1-13, i.e. portions ascribed to Dharmakṣema only), T387, T663, T1488 and T1581; in addition, two lost texts are also listed, namely, the 海龍王經 and the 菩薩戒優婆戒壇文. This pattern is similar to that observed, but on a much larger scale, for works ascribed to Dharmarakṣa; and for two works ascribed to Guṇabhadra.

According to Hayashi Taiun 林岱雲, there is a disagreement about the relation between the Bodhisatvabhūmi 菩薩善戒經 T1582 ascribed to *Guṇavarman 求那跋摩 and the Bodhisatvabhūmi 菩薩地持經 T1581 ascribed to *Dharmakṣema 曇無讖. Hayashi quotes and supports Zhisheng’s view that the contents of T1582 are largely identical to those of T1581, and asserts that T1582 is an excerpt from the more extensive T1581 with, the prefatory part 序文 and the ending 流通分 added later.

Ōno points out that the title Pusa dichi jing 菩薩地持經 was first used for T1581 by KYL. Before that, Pusa jie jing 菩薩戒經 was most commonly used as the title.

Deleanu notes that Sengyou (T2145 [LV] 11b19) gives the date of the completion of the translation of the *Bodhisattvabhūmi 菩薩地持經 T1581 as “year 7 of the Xuanshi 玄始Era” (i.e. 418 C.E.). However, this date appears only in the versions of the Zifu, Puning and Jingshan Canons.
