*Saṃghabhadra?, *Saṃghabhūti? 僧伽跋澄, 僧伽䟦澄 fl. 381-399? Demiéville (1954): 364-365 discusses the forms of his name and the problem of its restitution into Skt. Demiéville suggests that this transcription may derive from a Prakrit, Saṅghabhaddaṃ, Saṅghabhaṭa etc. Variants in the glossary of Xuanying and Huilin (T2128) 隥伽跋澄, 橙伽跋澄, 撜伽跋澄. Demiéville also refers to Lévi, Journal Asiatique (1936): 1:89. Nattier (2010) on T309, 232 n. 4, discusses problems with the reconstruction of the name, and expresses dissatisfaction with all alternatives mooted to date; she also refers to a treatment of this problem by Demiéville in HBGR (1978) 281a.
