Tokyo: Iwanami shoten, 1941. — 947-950

Hayashiya's summary of the content of the catalogues on this and related titles is as follows:

Sengyou's recompilation of Dao'an's catalogue of anonymous scriptures
A Xianshou furen jing 賢首夫人經 is listed in this catalogue, and was extant at the time of Sengyou.

Fajing’s Zhongjing mulu and Yancong’s Zhongjing mulu and Jingtai
Fajing also regarded the Xianshou furen jing 賢首夫人經 (as an alternate title of Xianshou jing 賢首經) as an anonymous scripture. Yancong did the same.

LDSBJ 三寶記:
However, LDSBJ, and other cataloguers after that, listed the text as translated by Shengjian 聖堅. Since it is chronologically impossible that a work of Shengjian would be listed in Dao'an's catalogue, Hayashiya maintains that what LDSBJ meant by Shengjian is in fact Fajian 法堅 of the W. Jin 西晋 period, who was confused with Shengjian 聖堅 in and after LDSBJ. Thus, Hayashiya compares the vocabulary of the text of surviving Xianshou jing 賢首經 T570 and the vocabulary that Fajian usually uses. He observes that there is some similarity between the two, and so date of composition of T570 should be the same as or close to Fajian. However, some important terms and phrases are translated differently in T570: For example, 賢首經 uses 阿耨多羅三藐三菩提 where Fajian uses 無上正眞道. Further, the tone of 賢首經 is also significantly different from that of Fajian. Hence, Hayashiya maintains that T570 is not by Fajian.

Thus, Hayashiya concludes that the attribution of T570 Shengjian, i..e Fajian, must be rejected, and the text is an anonymous scripture of the W. Jin 西晋 period.

Tokyo: Sakaino Kōyō Hakushi Ikō Kankōkai, 1935. — 96-98

CSZJJ ascribes only the *Ākāśagarbha-sūtra 虛空藏經 [not extant] to Shengjian 聖堅. Very few biographical details about Shengjian are known. LDSBJ ascribes fourteen texts to him, including the *Ākāśagarbha-sūtra. Sakaino rejects all of those ascriptions except the *Ākāśagarbha-sūtra, pointing out that nine of these ascriptions were simply imported holus-bolus from certain lists of anonymous scriptures in CSZJJ. This is part of a larger pattern that Sakaino points out in Fei’s treatment of scriptures regarded as anonymous by Sengyou, which altogether affects a large number of ascriptions still carried in the present canon.

Daijō kai kyō no kenkyū 大乗戒経の研究. Tokyo: Risōsha 理想社, 1954. — 159

Ōno points out that the ascription of the Xianshou jing 賢首經 T570 to Shengjian 聖堅 of the W. Qin 西秦 period was given first by LDSBJ, citing the Shixing catalogue 始興錄. The ascription was taken up by DTNDL, DZKZM, and KYL as well. However, T570 was listed in Dao’an’s catalogue, as well as in Fajing and Yancong 彥琮錄, as an anonymous scripture. Ōno claims that, as it was already listed in Dao’an’s catalogue compiled in 374 CE, T570 could not have been translated in the W. Qin period, which started in 385 CE, hence the ascription to Shengjian is incorrect. Ōno re-classifies T570 as an anonymous scripture of the W. Jin period.

[Dao'an catalogue]  Dao'an 道安.
Tokyo: Tōyō bunko, 1945. — 463

Hayashiya examines Dao’an’s list of anonymous scriptures, as “recompiled” by Sengyou under the title 新集安公失譯經錄 at CSZJJ T2145 (LV) 16c7-18c2. The Xianshou furen jing 賢首夫人經 is included in the section of the Dao'an/CSZJJ list for texts listed as extant 有; Sengyou adds an interlinear note: 或云賢首經; 17c9. Hayashiya gives, in tabulated form, information about the treatment of the same texts in Fajing T2146, LDSBJ T2034, the KYL T2154, and his own opinion about whether or not the text is extant in T, and if so, where (by vol. and page no.). The above text is identified by Hayashiya with the Xianshou jing 賢首經 T570, attributed in the present canon (T) to Sheng Jian 聖堅.
