The Taisho carries a note saying that an alternate name of this text is Pusa daoshu jing 菩薩道樹經. According to Hayashiya's summary, the identification of Zhi Qian's text with this title goes back to Fajing. Subsequent bibliographers accepted this identification and did not record the two texts separately, until Zhisheng again separated them in his KYL. Dao'an 道安 lists these two titles separately, and ascribes only the 私阿末經 to Zhi Qian, regarding the Pusa daoshu jing as anonymous. This should give us pause in identifying the two with one another--if they were the same, why would Dao'an have separated them?--though it is also possible that Dao'an 道安 made a mistake. Hayashiya concludes that these two titles may have referred to alternate translations of the same original text by different translators.

According to Zürcher, Sengyou attributed thirty-six texts to Zhi Qian 支謙, of which twenty-three have survived: T54, T68, T76, T87, T169, T185, T198, T225, T281, T362, T474, T493, T532, T533, T556, T557, T559, T581, T632, T708, T735, T790, T1011. However, Zürcher notes that T68 “is not mentioned by Dao’an.” This entry includes all twenty-three texts accepted by Zürcher as genuine Zhi Qian translations.

Hayashiya examines Dao’an’s list of anonymous scriptures, as “recompiled” by Sengyou under the title 新集安公失譯經錄 at CSZJJ T2145 (LV) 16c7-18c2. The Pusa dao shu jing 菩薩道樹經 is included in the section of the Dao'an/CSZJJ list for texts listed as extant 有; Sengyou adds an interlinear note: 或云道樹三昧 [經或云私阿三昧經 SYM] 經 [三 SYM] 二名異並同一本; 16c19. Hayashiya gives, in tabulated form, information about the treatment of the same texts in Fajing T2146, LDSBJ T2034, the KYL T2154, and his own opinion about whether or not the text is extant in T, and if so, where (by vol. and page no.). The above text is considered by Hayashiya to be “missing” (闕) from the Taishō edition of the canon. (However, cf. T532.)
