— T2145 (LV) 21c26

In Sengyou's Chu sanzang ji ji, T754 is regarded as an anonymous translation, that is to say, it is listed in the "Newly Compiled Continuation of the Assorted List of Anonymous Translations" 新集續撰失譯雜經錄 (juan 4):

未曾有因[v.l. + 緣 SYM]經二卷(或云未曾有經).

[Fei 597]  Fei Changfang 費長房. Lidai sanbao ji (LDSBJ) 歷代三寶紀 T2034. — T2034 (XLIX) 74a27, 96a25

In LDSBJ, a title corresponding to T754 is treated as an anonymous text of the E. Jin, citing CSZJJ; but the same title is elsewhere also ascribed to Shi Tanjing 釋曇景, with no source.

— T2034 (XLIX) 55a28, 74a27, 110b11, 117c1

The dating of T688 to the E. Han found in the present canon (the Taishō) probably dates to LDSBJ, where it is entered among a list of anonymous texts at the end of Fascicle 4, which treats works of the Han dynasty. The same title is also given in LDSBJ as an alternate title for the 未曾有因緣經, which is included in a list of 53 anonymous texts of the E. Jin. The title 未曾有經 is also treated as anonymous in Fascicle 14. The title 未曾有因緣經 is incongruously treated as a text that DOES have an ascription, in Fascicle 13; but this probably refers to the ascription to Tanjing, citing the Shixing lu, 96a25. The title 未曾有因緣經 is still borne by T754, which carries an ascription to Tanjing in the Taishō.

T2146. — T2146 (LV) 115c6, also 123a5; T2146 (LV) 127b1.

Ascribed to Tanjing by an interlinear note in Fajing: 未曾有因緣經二卷(沙門曇景譯) T2146 (LV) 115c6.

The same attribution appears again in a list at the end of fascicle 1, 123a5; however, according to the Taishō apparatus (122 n. 1), this list is taken from M, and collated against Y, which suggests it is missing from S and K (and therefore a late addition?).

However, the same title (with a different number of juan) also incongruously appears in a list of 23 texts, T2146 (LV) 127a11-b8, in a part of the catalogue handling "fake and spurious sutras" 眾經偽妄 (fasicle 2). Fajing appends to this list a note stating "[these] 23 texts were all concocted by Xiao Ziliang, Prince of Jingling under the Southern Qi, who frivolously[?] abridged or expanded the great texts, [according] to his own whim; [he thus] violated the sacred teaching, and wrought havoc with the true scriptures. We therefore append them at the end of [this list of] forgeries, as a caution to later generations" 二十三經。

[MR: This text is treated as anonymous in CSZJJ.]

Daijō kai kyō no kenkyū 大乗戒経の研究. Tokyo: Risōsha 理想社, 1954. — 378

The Weicengyou yinyuan jing T754 is listed in the section of extant anonymous scriptures in CSZJJ, with the alternate title Weicengyou jing Fajing ascribes it to Tanjing 曇景. LDSBJ (citing the Shixing catalogue 始興錄) gives the same ascription, regarding it as translated under the Qi 齊. Ōno provisionally accepts the ascription to Tanjing.

[Bie lu (DH mss)]  "Liu Song" Zhongjing bie lu 劉宋眾經別錄, S.2872, P.3747. Dating complex and unclear.

In the "Liu Song" Zhongjing bie lu 劉宋眾經別錄, as represented by a Dunhuang manuscript fragment, P.3747, the following titles are listed, which may correspond to extant texts (in some cases, identification is rather tentative). In contrast to some other titles, which are treated in separate CBC@ entries, these titles are listed in the Bie lu without any further accompanying information (e.g. about ascription or date). Note that the Bie lu includes interlinear notes giving such information, and the scope of application of those interlinear notes is sometimes uncertain: it can be hard to tell whether they apply only to the single title preceding the note, or to a group of titles leading up to the note; and if they apply to a group of titles, how many. Titles in the DH ms. Bie lu are identified by the numbering in Tan (1991), given at the beginning of each line.

Many of these same titles are treated as anonymous and extant in CSZJJ fascicle 4. The same is also true of a number of titles not listed here, because the texts in question appear not to be extant.

Texts presently ascribed to Dharmarakṣa and to Zhi Qian (excepting T361) are excluded from this entry, because they are treated in other CBC@ entries.
